The China Grove Service Club is dedicated to serving individual and community needs.
The China Grove Service Club is a faith-based civic organization that functions to serve individual and community needs in the South Rowan area, with a focus on youth. Each year, the club gives 100% of its income — between $30,000 and $40,000 — back to the community.
The funds are a combination of proceeds earned from operating the concession stand at the China Grove Ball Park and membership dues. The concession stand is in operation for six months of each year, during spring and fall seasons of China Grove youth sports programs.
Our Mission
The China Grove Service Club is an organization dedicated to serving individual and community needs with an emphasis on youth, making the South Rowan community a better place for all.
About Us
The China Grove Service Club was formed in 2023 by members of the former China Grove Civitan Club. The members left the Civitan organization after the Civitan District with which it was affiliated disbanded.
The Service Club consists of 25 civic-minded members who are actively recruiting new membership to join the co-ed, inclusive organization.
The club meets on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month at 5:30 p.m. at the Stag n Doe Restaurant in China Grove.

Our Projects
The club gives 100% of its income back to the community, with 50% going to China Grove youth sports programs, including the Little League. The China Grove Little League, in existence for 50 years, is known as one of the strongest in Rowan County. Currently, nearly 600 children in the South Rowan area participate in youth sports each year. Club members feel that without the Service Club’s financial support, some youth sports programs would end. Currently, the club is contributing $14,000 per year to youth sports programs.
A majority of the club’s funds comes from operating the concession stand at youth sports games, where hot dogs, cotton candy, popcorn, and nachos are staples.
Other projects include:
- Main Street Missions food pantry for the needy
- The South Rowan YMCA
- The Bible Teachers education program at South Rowan High School and Carson High School. Biblical education in the public schools is not funded by the state.
- Scholarships
For individuals, club members build handicap ramps and fencing and make repairs to homes of residents in need or who face fire damage to their homes.
